Mother
You gave birth to me today at 4am.
Most likely in the dark. Thank you mother,
you amazing woman. Words are not enough.
My dearest mother Arlene Xena"One day I wish to meet my mother & I will
love and cherish her with all my heart.
She sacrificed so much for the family.
I wish that she is well and happy." as
I wished upon the star , who knew that it
would come true years later.
We were re-united finally. I did not know
what to do, all I knew was that we love her,
we just didn't know exactly how to
communicate that.
Communication is always a work in progress.
Mother you are the most giving woman I haveever met. The strength you have is
unfathomable. To this day you have shared
yourself to others & always thought of other
people's well being before yours (never
thought that would be possible). You have
forgiven those that have hurt you. Your
youth spent working to take care of other
families and supporting us at the same time
even when you were far away.
All these years you care, everyday.
Your stories amazes me.
This is just a fraction of it. Mother beforeshe went abroad as an au pair , she taught
in a primary school and during her teaching
careers my sister, brother and I will go and
visit her for milk then after her teaching
during the day she would then spend more
time working on the market selling
vegetables. Her earnings , well , let's just say
just she had to go abroad in able for our family
to survive.
I love you everyday x
About Digital Portrait Series
My recent family visit in the Philippines in August
2019 has got me thinking, reflecting and very much
in a limbo of being born from the east and most of
my adulthood in the west.
Dedicated these digital drawings to my family as a
form of celebration in unity and love.
